What Hope Week is
Hope Week is a student-led initiative through the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District's Hope Squad program. The effort focuses on belonging, peer support, kindness, and open conversations about mental health.
The Truckee Town Council presented a proclamation to Shannon Decker of The Speedy Foundation, an advisor for Hope Squad and a local advocate for mental health awareness.
Community connection
During Hope Week, students participated in activities designed to support mental wellness and make school communities feel more connected. The Town also highlighted Cup of Hope participation at local coffee shops and visible reminders at public libraries and banners around Truckee.
Those everyday touchpoints matter because mental health support often starts with connection, awareness, and knowing it is acceptable to ask for help.
